Quick Start


  • Go to the drive or directory where the SpotLight install files are.
  • Run setup.exe. The archived files will be extruded onto harddisc, possibly in the directory C:\program\SPOTLITE
  • Put your WAV-files in the same directory!! Three test files are already there.
  • Run Spotlight with the command C:\program\SPOTLITE\TBOOK.EXE SPOTLITE.TBK or make an association in WIN.INI under [Extensions] and run Spotlite.tbk straigh from the icon.
  • Use the icon SPOTLITE.ICO if you like
  • Use your UP and DOWN arrow keys to move around the slots. If this is a demo, only three will be accessible. Press Enter or INS to insert a file.
  • Press SPACE to play.
  • Take look at the Quick Keys table below for additional features!

    Q Q-Run. Play the whole playlist.
    Right Arrow Send file to Playlist
    Left Arrow Play first file from Playlist.
    Up Arrow Move up to previous slot
    Down Arrow Move down to the next slot
    O On Air / Off Air, turn on/off logging.
    L Load Setup
    S Save Setup
    P Program Name
    D Date
    R Reference Number
    C Clear all slots on the screen
    A About Spotlight.
    K Kill Playlist.
    E Exit Spotlight.
    TAB Jump across columns
    HOME Move to first slot
    END Move to last slot



    TROUBLESHOOTING:

    My mouse doesnīt work!

    Yes, it does, but Spotlight disables it in the screen. It is still working in background. Learn the Quick Keys instead! Turn off NumLock and most of the functions are accessible from the lower part of the keyboard, even Ins and Del.

    Thereīs no sound files!

    There should be three test files. Put your own files in the same directory as Spotlight, it will speed up your file handling.

    I canīt play the file!

    A.Make sure a file is loaded. Press INS to load, SPACE to play
    B.Try to play the file in Windows' Media Player
    C.The file can be corrupt.
    D.Pull up the fader on your mixer? Masterfader?
    E.If the file is loaded through Load Setup, you might have edited it since last time. Reload from disc to update setup and save it.

    There's a momentary lag between files in playlist!!

    A.Edit the start of your next file
    B.Cut the end off the previous file.
    C.The file might be corrupt!

    The time display is going nuts, showing negative time!!

    A.You have edited the file in a Setup. Reload the file into the setup and save the setup again.
    B.The file might be corrupt!

    Can I use compressed WAV-files?

    A.Sure. ADPCM is fine. Saves a lot of space

    I've tried all this but it still doesn't work. Now What?
